1- Introduction
Materials and Energy Research Institute, located in Isfahan Province, is responsible for the implementation of applied and development research projects in the field of innovative technologies. Materials and Energy Research Institute has implemented numerous scientific, technical and industrial projects related to fuel cells and detectors.

Around 100 faculty members and experts work at Materials and Energy Institute in fields of Mechanics, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Electrics and Electronics, Management, Industry and other related fields.

4- Library and Documentation Center
o    Mechanical Characteristics Laboratory including the universal extension testing machine (extension, pressure, bending, twisting and fatigue with low cycles), impact testing machine (Izod-Charpy testing machine), desktop universal hardness testing machine, portable ultrasonic hardness testing machine, fatigue testing machine with high cycle
o    Material analysis Laboratory including fixed and portable quantometer machine, atomic absorption machine, carbon and sulfur machine
o    Non Destructive laboratory (N.D.T) consisting of ultrasonic machine (UT), magnetic particles (MT), metal thickness gauge device, test band device for sandwich structures
o    Metallography Laboratory consisting of optical telescopes with X1600 resolution, micro-hardness tester, laboratory cutting machine, hot mounting machine, electro-polishing machine, portable microscope with X400 resolution, anodizing pilot
o    Chemistry Laboratory comprised of gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry (GC/MS), gas chromatograph device with FID and µ-ECD Detectors, spectrophotometer
o    New Energies Laboratory including welding machine, hot press machine, universal milling machine and CNC
o    Thermal Laboratory consisting of heat pipe testing machine and other equipment
o    Electronic and Space Convertors Laboratory including oscilloscope, spectral analyst, micro ohm meter, nano volt meter and multimeter devices

o    Acquisition of the technical knowledge required for design and manufacturing of 5KW and 10KW fuel cells (CHP) capable of using heat and electricity simultaneously
o    Acquisition of the technical knowledge required for design and manufacturing of fuel cells with 1.5KW capacity
o    Acquisition of the technical knowledge required for design and manufacturing of compact polymer fuel cells for fuel cell stack
o    Design and manufacturing of Hydrogen Gas Sensor
o    Design and manufacturing of the test system for fuel cells with different powers
o    Design and manufacturing of polymer fuel cell system automatic control software
o    Design and manufacturing of prohibited materials detector
o    Acquisition of the technical knowledge required for design and manufacturing of honeycomb sandwich structures used in space systems
o    Acquisition of the technical knowledge  required for design and manufacturing of the solar panels used in space systems
o    Acquisition of the technical knowledge  required for design and manufacturing of the heat pipes used in space systems
o    Design and manufacturing of satellite transfer trolley in clean rooms (with two dimensions of freedom)
o    Design and manufacturing of portable detectors according to ionic mobility spectrometer
o    Design and manufacturing of multi-purpose station detectors
o    Design and manufacturing of the electronic tracer for monitoring of individuals
o    Acquisition of the technical knowledge required for design and manufacturing of the DC-DC electrical converter for space applications
o    Manufacturing of grade 5 titanium spheres by means of superplastic forming for pressure vessels
o    Development of the technical knowledge, technology development and manufacturing of honeycomb sandwich structure cores applicable in space systems
